Wireless Routers and WiFi Technology

by Techsplosive on January 27, 2009

somethingWireless routers which utilize WiFi technology have revolutionized the way that the world accesses the internet.  The advent of WiFi technology completely removed all need for computer users to have to plug in chords and run them to DSL, Cable or phone jacks.  Instead, the computer user plugs the wireless router into the jack and the router broadcasts the internet signal over a wireless frequency.

Wireless routers and WiFi technology have made the internet more portable.  Employees and who once had to wait until they reached the office to access the internet, can now access the internet on their way to work, provided they are in the range of a router.  For home users, wireless routers and wifi have allowed users to enjoy the internet more recreationally, rather than have to remain connected to a wall plug. The effects of WiFi and wireless router technology on lifestyle have been tremendous.  As more people attempt to start businesses out of their home WiFi technology has assisted tremendously.  Using WiFi, the home entrepreneur can access their personal computer remotely via another computer and have access to all files just as if they were on their home computer.  This system of accessing data allows home entrepreneurs and other small business owners to be more portable, and allows the small business owner to still control the information and data while on a vacation or other trip.

Additionally, wireless routers and WiFi technology possess psychological effects as well.  Before the days of wireless internet, people used ugly, brighly colored chords to connect to the internet.  Most desktops in offices still make use of these chords, and so not seeing these chords can create a more relaxed environment for the home WiFi user.

With excellent usability, features (security), the continuing design evolution to sleeker wireless router models, and increased broadcast range and power the WiFi and wireless routers earn a 10/10.  With a seemless lifestyle integration, uber-practicality, and excellent benefits (portability, remote access, etc.) WiFi and wireless routers once again earn a 10/10 giving it a total Techsplosive score of:

Some other interesting stuff...
