You, like most people, like to get what you want without having to pay full price for it. Getting a great deal almost feels better than your first kiss. No? If you want to spend less time having to hunt around to spend less money, then check out these 10 fine pieces of smart shopping technology.
PriceWhispers. PriceWhispers is a super-new service that seems like it will be taking online shopping and deal hunting to a whole new level. PriceWhispers is basically a PriceLine.com (name your price for travel, airfare, and hotels) for consumer products. PriceWhispers.com users choose a product from a PW partner store, and then submit a bid of how much the are willing to pay for the product. The merchant then decides whether or not they will accept the offer or reject it. The service is in Beta right now, and is accepting users on an as needed basis to help provide feedback. Expect PriceWhispers to fully launch soon and revolutionize the e-commerce marketplace.
Dubli. Dubli.com is shopping at its funnest. It is a website that does auctions backwards. Instead of bidding the price of a product up, the price is bid down. They offer three different ways to win auctions and great products at a fraction of the price. People have won Wii’s and PS3’s for less than $100, and sometimes even for $0! The catch is, you pay per bid you place – but if you play it right you can really walk away with a few great deals.
GoogleProductSearch. Google is the old standby. Google product search returns product results with prices from many different stores across the web so that you can comparison shop your way to the best deal. Google product search also allows customers to narrow their search by price and store, depending on the searchers preference.
Fatwallet. FatWallet is an all-in-one site where deal hunters can compare product prices, find coupon, deal, or free shipping codes, and even receive cash back on their purchases. FatWallet could very well be the one-stop-shop for smart shoppers.
gWallet. Sporting the same concept as FatWallet, gWallet allows customers to comparison shop for products and find coupon codes for products. At this point gWallet does not offer cash-back on products, but will probably still be successful due to the popularity and previous success of the website developer running gWallet.
BigCrumbs. BigCrumbs is yet another website offering product price comparison, coupon codes, and cashback rebates on qualifying purchases. The thing that sets BigCrumbs apart is it’s social and business aspect. BigCrumbs allows their users to develop their own personal profile, and interact with eachother in a way very similar to MySpace. BigCrumbs also has a referral system allowing users to earn residual income for promoting BigCrumbs rebate shopping system to their friends. With rebates and residual income, some BigCrumbs users are managing a few hundred extra $$$ per month.
LiveCashBack. Simply put, Live CashBack is like Google product search except you can earn rebates on qualifying purchases.
CouponTweet. CouponTweet is a service that scours twitter for product coupons and deals, and then delivers them to other Twitter users based on product preferences. So far, the system seems to be working pretty well, and it has saved a some Twitter users a couple of bucks.
RetailMeNot. RetailMeNot is the go-to internet resource for online coupons and store deals. Simply type in the brand or store, and up pops various coupon codes and promotions. RetailMeNot has saved me at least $200 this past year alone.
ShoppingNotes. ShoppingNotes.com was made so that you never miss a sale again. Simply copy and paste the URL of the product that you want to watch and submit your email address, and you will receive updates when the price drops or if the product is included in a special promotion. ShoppingNotes.com is yet another service designed to save you time, and keep as much of your money as possible in your pocket.
