Technology for the Fashionista

by Techsplosive on April 21, 2009

Fashion and clothing design can say a lot about a person and their personality.  Technology has moved way past the one for all, and has diversified itself to fit people of different lifestyles as well.  Technology has even gone as far as becoming an fashion accessory, and designer companies such as Dolce & Gabanna have sponsored special edition mobile phones.  Take a look below at all of the tech options available for the fashion lover’s lifestyle.

TryMyFashion – TryMyFashion is a microblogging service (think twitter) for the fashion obsessed members of society.  Fashionistas can join TMF directly, or port their twitter account to the service to share their fashion tweets and updates.  The same can be accomplsihed directly on twitter by associating with other fashion forward persons, but hey – I don’t want to make any decisions for you…

UsTrendy.com – UsTrendy is the ultimate website for fashionheads.  Designers, models, artists, fans, and those who want to see what is new in the fashion realm all converge at UsTrendy.  In their own words:

“The UsTrendy Fashion Show will serve as a way to showcase the top rated clothing designs and top rated UsTrendy models (as the models will the wear the top rated clothing designs on the runway).”

Fash Phones – Quite a long time ago Motorola released their golden specially branded designer Dolce & Gabanna mobile phone.  The other premium fashion designers were not to be outdone, and so Louis Vuitton responded with an all to ugly mobile handset.  Versace also released a themed Nokia cell phone which is neither amazing nor intrinsically great.  If you are into accessorizing your protable tech with your clothes, I would advise going for color and style based on the manufacturers specs rather than a designer company’s input and poor marketing idea.

SonicShack – The SonicShack website offers a platform for the more creative friends of fashion to create and order custom designed t-shirts.  SonicShack also makes an Adobe AIR app available for those who wish to build custom t-shirts from their desktop.  SonicShack is a great tool for testing a design on a shirt to make sure it works before placing an order and ending up with some ugly apparel.
