StartUp Sunday: CarsForAGrand.com

by Techsplosive on May 10, 2009

The general idea and principle behind CarsForAGrand.com is not necessarily new.  I guess you could call CarsForAGrand more of a “SpringOff” than a “Startup” – but I have to admint that what the guys behind the website are doing is phenomenal.

At its core, CarsForAGrand is an eBay niche store website that aggregates cars on eBay priced less than $1,000.  The website offers users the ability to narrow the results by area code and locality – and to subscribe to an RSS feed of local cars so that a good deal on a cheap car is not missed.  While the idea is not new or simple, CarsForAGrand is brilliant.  It is the epitome of entrepreneurship – providing a simple solution for a common problem.  People want cheap cars, CarsForAGrand delivers.

Even more remarkable than the idea and purpose of CarsForAGrand is the marketing scheme that they devised.  The owners of CarsForAGrand decided to buy a car from their website and drive it across the country – from sunny California to the hot beaches of Miami.  Just a few weeks ago on April 20, they reached their destination and proved that a cheap car doesn’t have to be a bad car, and that CarsForAGrand delivers as promised.  Along the way they got TONS of free press from local news stations hearing about and covering the story with interviews of the owners of CarsForAGrand.

Congrats and kudos to the guys from CarsForAGrand for making it across the country and proving the value provided by their unique service.  This will hopefully serve as a lesson in genius marketing, and could be the beginning of a revolution in the niche store and affiliate marketing community.  Time will tell…

Some other interesting stuff...

Yes I think what he did with the site shows what a little creativity can go a long way….I heard that he makes like 6 figures with that site…..now that’s a decent paycheck for a automated site.
